OBJECTIVES

The INTER Project intends to contribute to improving the quality of education and to supporting innovation in schools by providing them with support to develop an intercultural approach. It aspires to promote reflection on the cultural diversity of students and their reference communities, as well as to provide a practical instrument for initial training and to help teachers. The project focuses on the development, application, and validation of a guide to facilitate a needs analysis and the improvement of school practices from an intercultural perspective.

The Guide is available in different formats that make it possible to use it in in-class teaching and in distance learning. Likewise, it has been translated to several European languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Latvian. Along with the Guide, there is a video titled "Kaleidoschool," recorded and edited by the INTER group in different European schools.

The INTER project has received the following awards:

AULA Award for the best book about education in the year 2006, awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science to the INTER Guide: a practical guide for applying intercultural education in schools. Authorship shared by the members of the INTER Group.

First Prize, Evens Prize 2005, awarded by the Evens Foundation to the INTER project: a practical guide to implementing intercultural education, for its contribution to social integration in Europe in the field of intercultural education.
